Technology and the GOP Are Mutually Exclusive

I’m a big fan of both Mark Levine, and S.E. Cupp — both have been critical recently of Karl Rove and certain Republicans. Both sides of this debate are missing an important point: the situation is a lot more serious than ‘messaging’ and attracting the ‘right’ ethnic groups to the party. The Obama GOTV machine was up and running over 18 months ago, and is still operational. Aided by the mainstream media and a few prominent social media sites (like FB), progressives will continue to rack up support utilizing very effective technology. Many conservatives still think high technology in politics is an up-to-date walk list with email addresses!! Sad.

Our salvation is that progressive ideas will eventually fail. Resistance is already building on both sides of the isle to the drone issue and drastic new forms of gun control. The unknown is how far things will deteriorate until more Americans rise to the occasion.

I would sleep much better if there was more evidence that conservatives really understood the scope and effectiveness of the left’s data-driven voter-involvement machine.

‘Myopic world view syndrome’ leads many people to ignore serious threats to our security and way of life. A rogue EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse, see “One Second After”) or a serious economic ‘event’ and subsequent breakdowns would be an instant game change. Why has the Department of Homeland Security stockpiled millions of hollow point bullets? The world is a very dangerous place. Regarding gun control, please don’t lecture to American families what people ‘need’ and don’t need.
We disarm our military and our citizens at our own peril. Neither is acceptable.

WSJ: “We’re Screwed” I Agree

Obama picks a political warrior for Treasury.

President Obama is expected to name Jack Lew as his Treasury secretary on Thursday, continuing his cabinet’s second-term makeover in his own image. He is assembling a team of personal and ideological loyalists whose job will be less to offer independent advice than to advance and implement his agenda for a larger, more redistributionist government.

Mr. Lew’s nomination will disappoint those (mostly naive CEOs) who were hoping for a second-term agenda more hospitable to business and private economic growth.

Save for a stint in Robert Rubin’s Citigroup, C -1.00% where Democrats go to monetize their political connections, and a few years as an academic, Mr. Lew is a Washington lifer whose expertise is politics. He brings no special knowledge or experience in economic policy, private industry or global finance.

Russia’s Pravda Declares “Communism Won in America with Obama; U.S. Suffering Has Only Begun

In an extraordinary column last week, Russia’s de facto government press arm declared that the era of “Miss American Pie” was over in the U.S. Citing Obama’s reelection, Pravda stated that the “Communists have won in America…”

Why? Because the US is “an illiterate society” that continues to buy off on Obama’s “lies of less taxes while he raises them.” The US educational system is also held responsible, with Pravda stating that it was “conquered by the Communists long ago and history was revised thus paving the way for their Communist presidents.”

As you might have gathered, Pravda’s hit on Obama as a communist isn’t a glancing blow. It seems to be the overriding theme of the article:

He is a Communist without question promoting the Communist Manifesto without calling it so. How shrewd he is in America. His cult of personality mesmerizes those who cannot go beyond their ignorance. They will continue to follow him like those fools who still praise Lenin and Stalin in Russia. Obama’s fools and Stalin’s fools share the same drink of illusion.

Pravda also criticizes the growing American attack on religious freedom, saying that “Christianity in the U.S. is under attack as it was during the early period of the Soviet Union.”

The Russian article concludes with a frightening warning to Americans:

Russia lost its’ civil war with the Reds and millions suffered torture and death for almost 75 years under the tyranny of the United Soviet Socialist Republic. Russians survived with a new and stronger faith in God and ever growing Christian Church. The question is how long will the once “Land of the Free” remain the United Socialist States of America? Their suffering has only begun.

There’s no doubt that everything is not right in Russia. Nevertheless, it’s extraordinary that our formerly communist neighbor is now chiding the United States for moving in the same fatal direction of the former Soviet Union.

Great article in the WSJ today — White House promises corporate tax breaks to big business and screws mom and pop startups that create over 75% of new jobs. My x-hero FedEX’s CEO Fred Smith actually said it was “mythology” that taxing small business kills jobs — that’s B.S. Fred. Obama is playing big business the same way he sold them on Obamacare.
